4 SEO Mistakes You Should Avoid At Any Cost

Introduction:

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is similar to a puzzle in a lot of respects. Every piece needs to fit to display the proper image. Unfortunately, the puzzle has changed through the years. New pieces are coming in. Old pieces are being removed. Sometimes it is hard to figure out whether or not the same image still exists.

The answer to that question is: Yes, the same puzzle exists. The only difference is there is a new image being displayed. Sometimes the SEO experts even get confused as to what is happening. I have a few simple tips to keep everyone on the right track when it comes to search engine optimization.

The Four Mistakes Even SEO Experts Miss From Time to Time

SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

1) Rich Anchor Texts

You should have no more than 30% rich anchor text in your content. It also needs to be spread out in different forms and variations. There is such a thing as too much. No one uses rich anchor text 100% of the time. You are doing yourself a disservice by using it to help sell your brand.

2) Too Much, Too Fast

A lot of people try to collect links very quickly. It is like they have a deadline or something. There is a case study about Marcus Taylor that illustrates the point. He built more than 100,000 links in 24 hours. He shot to number one in Google. Three weeks later he was pushed down because of the links. SEO requires you to use a little bit in different forms and variations.SEO, Search Engine Optimization, Page Views, Google Analytics

3) Links On the Homepage

Look at the links on other pages. What portion of their links comes from high authority pages and content? The idea is to have more internal links, as opposed to simply placing them on your homepage. High authority links give you a lot more substance. It shows you are more credible than some of the other pages. Internal Link Building

4) Content Counts

You can either say a whole lot of nothing, or a little bit of everything. Your content needs to be on point. It needs to be relevant and not being done anywhere else. There have been too many sites shut down because of poor content. You cannot say something for the sake of saying something. There needs to be a reason and a message behind your words and imagery.

    1. Vaibhav Kulkarni, glad you found the article helpful.

Rich anchor text is link anchor text that matches a popular search phrase or keyword. Using keyword-rich anchor text for internal links is very beneficial because it can help both humans and Google (All Search Engines) navigate your site better and it can increase organic traffic to your site by increasing your search engine ranking. But as I’ve mentioned in this article avoid using excessively rich anchor text just for search engines. You should have no more than 30% rich anchor text in your content. Hope this helps! 🙂
