As per the Whois Data Reminder Policy (WDRP) adopted by Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) in 2003, each domain registrant will be reminded annually by the ICANN-Accredited Registrar for review of their current Whois contact information data, and make any corrections to keep the contact data up-to-date because as per the terms of domain registration agreement, the provision of false Whois (contact) information can provide grounds for cancellation of domain name registration.
So at least once a year, it becomes mandatory that you verify your submitted Whois Contact Data for your Domain Name and make any corrections if needed. Anyways you’ll be getting a email notice from your registrar, reminding you to verify the correctness of your current contact information and in case of inaccuracy prompts you to update it with corrected data to comply with the notice.
